Signature 500

The Compact Signature 500
  • Tests up to 64 points (combine two units for 128 points).
  • Learns ANY pattern of interconnections (crossed wires, jumpers, etc.) and wires that are twisted together in twisted pair cables.
  • Detects opens, shorts, miswires, and improper pairing of twisted pairs.

Easy to Use
  • When used in pairs, either Signature 500 can be host or remote, allowing for one-person operation (saves time and money).
  • Upon powering up host tester, remote tester automatically powers up via the cable and shuts off after 5 minutes of no use.
  • The wire list is learned and displayed or printed from the host.
Cable Memory Tokens:
  • To program Signature 500, touch token cable to tester contact.
  • Stores “last learned” cable in battery backed-up internal memory.
Signature Analysis (Cirris Systems pioneered the use of signature in cable testing)
  • A six-digit “signature” is mathematically derived for each wire list/twisted pair.
  • Operator uses signature to verify the learned wire list/twisted pair matches a previously documented list.

Power Required

110-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz Standard 9 volt battery. Typical operating time 12 hours on 500 mA hour alkaline battery, 2.5 hours on 7.2 volt 100 mA hour NiCad battery (included). NiCad can be recharged in place using the wall transformer. Battery save feature, auto shut-off after approximately 5 minutes of non-use.
