Topic: Bird Blind Contest Winners

Audubon, Jim Bach, and DLWPF joined together to sponsor the contest. The designs are in -- come see what the students have been working on and join in the unveilings!

Accolades Again

This month's Accolade goes to one of those behind-the-scenes volunteers who is vital to the success of any volunteer organization. Jim Bach of James Bach and Associates has played a significant role in the Bird Blind project as consultant to the students during the design process. Jim read about the project and approached DLWPF with his willingness to help out.

Jim has participated in other successful projects including the Matheson Wetland Preserve and Red Butte Gardens. Jim was the recipient of the Urban Environment Award in Rochester MN before moving to Salt Lake City.

Thank you, Jim, for your help. We look forward to working with you more in the future.

Mark Your Calendar!

Mark down these dates to welcome in spring, Earth Day (April) and Wetlands Month (May).

On April 19th: Celebrate the Earth Day is sponsored by the Utah Society for Environmental Education to help us learn how to reduce our personal impact on the environment. If you are willing to spend a couple of hours on the 19th helping at a DLWPF booth, give us a call. If that doesn't work into your schedule, come by and enjoy the fun!

On April 26th from 9 am to noon put on your hip-waders, grab your gloves, and join us for the first of two clean up days at Decker Lake. May's Member meeting will also be dedicated to a clean up.
