This is your chance to vote on the members of the DLWPF Board. If you have participated in the planning process or have attended any of the DLWPF meetings, you are eligible to vote.
Also, a preview of the new DLPWF slide presentation will be shown, providing an opportunity for input into the presentation format.
Earl Jackson, USU Extension Service Educator, promoted wise water conservation principles at the March DLWPF Member meeting. Earl explained the need for water conservation and addressed some of the concerns covered in the Governor's Growth Summit. Utah is the second driest state in the Union.
There is concern that Utah's population uses more water per capita than any other state. Over-watering yards is one of the primary culprits to water waste and educating both corporate and residential water users is vital to wise water use.
Earl explained the role the Decker Lake Educational Center can play in educating the community about wiser water use, addressing water conservation issues in both residential and corporate landscape design.
Just an FYI for anyone interested....Your attendance at any of these meetings is welcome and will show support for the project. For specifics, call Dian at 261-0496 or leave a message at 977-4999. Upcoming Presentations include:

Voting or ratification will take place at this month's Member Meeting on April 24th at 5:30 at Franklin Quest.
As usual, DLWPF is grateful for the work the many volunteers provide. Without this support, the restor- ation would flounder. Here is some information about some of our members...
Thanks to Kathy Whitman (In Plain English Inc)and Jill Elliss (PR Chair) for the new DLWPF brochure included in this mailing. It is a beautiful and informative brochure. Thank you, Kathy and Jill!
Congrats to Jon and Sherrie Bertrand on the birth of their new son, Daniel!
To Dianna Lehmann and Bruce Smith, both DLWPF members, on their recent marriage. Somehow it seems appropriate that they were introduced due to their common interest in Decker Lake.
Good luck...to Jill Elliss in her move to St George. We'll miss you and your support.
FIRST HEALTH is leading the way for the corporate community, donating $5,000 to DLWPF for use in the design and implementation of the Concept Plan. DLWPF thanks FIRST HEALTH for taking this initiative.
FIRST HEALTH was instrumental in spreading the word about the proposed Concept. Employees of FIRST HEALTH attended a brown bag presentation which highlighted the Decker Lake project. The Concept was well received and about fifteen folks joined the DLWPF ranks!
Keith Kinghorn received a "Piece of the Pie" as a thank you for FIRST HEALTH's support and was awarded with a plague officially designating FIRST HEALTH as "Adopting" Decker Lake through the State's Adopt-A-Water Body program.
"Adopt-A-Water Body" is sponsored by Utah State DEQ, administered by USEE (Utah Society of Environ-mental Education. "Adopt-A-Water Body" promotes wise water use and provides a way to track interest in funding priorities for local area lakes. (The more groups who "adopt" Decker Lake, the better our chances to receive Adopt-A-Water Body monies. If you are interested, give DLWPF a call at 977-4666).
