WHMA's annual conferences combine training, peer interaction, new technologies, best practice roundtables and vendor exhibits in a unique format exclusively for those in the wire/cable/harness industry. 2004's conference was held April 14-16 at the Wyndham Palace and Resort at the beautiful Lake Buena Vista Resort in Orlando. The conference included sessions on the competitive advantage of having A-620 standard certification in your shop, the cost savings of installing an ERP system in your operation, and the advantages of the "I Am Lean" approach to management of a company. Roundtable breakout sessions included: Success stories from small manufacturing companies, Competing successfully in a global marketplace, Business succession planning and Employee motivation/development. Past conferences have been held in such places as Anaheim CA, Tucson AZ, Chicago IL and El Paso TX. The 2005 Conference is scheduled April 6-9 at the Hershey Hilton Hotel and Conference Center in Hershey, PA.

Quality Standards
WHMA and IPC Partnership
WHMA and IPC worked in close partnership to develop the cable and harness industry's first quality standard - the A-620. If you maintain a quality system such as ISO-9000, using this standard can save you many hours of having to create in-house materials. A series of training materials including a 500+ page A-620 standard book with detailed colored photos is available through WHMA. The standard is also available on compact Disc (CD) including a company networked version. The price to WHMA members is 50% OFF the published IPC price.
Currently the A-620 is undergoing its first revision and will soon include a section on electrical testing. Cirris Systems is a member of IPC, participates on the A-620 committee and has had substantial input to the new electrical test section of the A-620 Standard. IPC is well recognized as the standards provider for companies that assemble printed circuit boards with their A-610 acceptance standard and sponsors the annual APEX and Printed Circuits Expo tradeshows.
