4. Manually "placing" targets onto each cavity location using the PC's mouse.
(This step is required to store into the Pin-Sight's connector library database the precise x-y coordinates of each cavity.)
Once connectors are created and added to your database they are available for future use. This process, although straight forward, is a bit cumbersome, particularly if you are using many different connector part numbers.
Our new MIL-Spec "Connector Library" offers computer generated drawings of insert arrangements on thousands of MIL-Spec connectors so you don't have to create them manually.
Cirris now offers an optional "Connector Library." This library contains the insert arrangements, with precise x-y coordinates pre-programmed, for over 10,000 MIL-Spec part numbers. The following families of connectors are currently supported:
- MIL-C-38999 Series I
- MIL-C-38999 Series II
- MIL-C-38999 Series III
- MIL-C-38999 Series IV
- BACC63 (Boeing)
- BACC45 (Boeing)
- EN3646 (European)
- MIL-C-5015 3400 Series Front Release
- MIL-C-5015 3450 Series Rear Release
- MIL-C-38300 (Part of 26500)
- MIL-C-83723 Series III
Other series to be added soon include the following MIL-D families:
- M24308/2
- M24308/4
- M24308/6
- M24308/8

To use the Connector Library, you simply type in your connector part number. If it's in our library you will see an image of the insert arrangement appear on screen like this:
When using the optional Connector Library to create connector "build-programs" on Pin-Sight, the target sizes and push-pull forces for each cavity are automatically created for you. You can still edit each of these elements manually if desired.
*(NOTE, push-pull forces are included for insertable contacts only, not for solder/fixed style contacts)
Pin-Sight is a real-time video-guided tool for correctly inserting spare pins, seal plugs and labeled or colored wires into electrical connectors
