Easy-Wire® Upgrade Suggestions

Easy-Wire® Upgrade Suggestions

Problems always seem to arise when changes are made. The following suggestions help quickly resolve potential issues/avoid them in the first place:

  1. Backup your database! Your Easy-Wire database is crucial and contains all your test programs and results. Make sure you make a copy of the database before proceeding with an upgrade.  You may simply copy and paste the database file into a secure location within Windows. The file name is “easywire.fdb” and can be found in either of the two following locations by default: “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Cirris\Database” or “C:\Users\Public\Documents\Cirris\Database”.
  2. Verify your test hardware! Though a software upgrade should have no negative impact on hardware, it’s always a good idea to know the state it’s in. Performance verification with a kit takes a short time to run and is recommended before the upgrade (if possible) and after the upgrade. Note: Newer software versions may have upgraded files used for verification that need to be imported again after upgrading. If you doubt your test results at any time, run the performance verification.
  3. Double-check your current Easy-Wire version! If troubleshooting is required, it’s useful to know which version you started out with before the upgrade. You can find the current software version number for Easy-Wire on the right-side of the main menu.
